I believe in giving back to the community you live in. Every year for the past six years I've made greeting cards for staff to purchase at our hospital. Each card provides $1.00 towards supporting a local family each holiday season. Over the years the staff that I work with, gather up the card funds, plus their own donations and support a local family through one of the our non-profits such as St. Vincent; Salvation Army or the Children's Aid Society. Giving back is important regardless of where you live or work. There are so many ways you can do this. Volunteering your time; providing donations of money, food or clothing; supporting local church sales; or supporting that local initiative. This weekend I made just under 60 cards to be purchased at the hospital where I work. Doing something for others just feels good! I'm moving to a new community shortly, and I will do something to support the local community initiatives there as well. Hello, Grand Bend. See you this summer!
As always, happy crafting!
